Back to my spot on St-Lawrence in Quebec.

Continued to follow the shore as the water is still getting lower. No doubt in my mind that there must have been some activity on that spot as lots of pottery and clay pipes pieces are laying on the ground. Found a few half penny sized tokens mostly from 1770's One Hibernia type seems to be cut in half on purpose (which would make it a 1/4 penny I guess). An other Half penny size coin seems to have either IS or 15 counter struck on it. Found an absolutely massive 18 pounder cannonball (had a really hard time getting it out of the water and carrying to the highway) and a beautiful old buckle broken in three pieces, glad to have found all of them.

But the find of the day was this silver coin which I believe to be a double struck 2 Real (around 28 mm). I don't know the date but it's very thin almost like a hammered (maybe from use). Would really appreciate your comments especially on those 3 unusual pieces - 2 halfpenny's and the Real.

Thanks.

Wow- what an amazing group of finds. Sounds like there should be plenty more there-keep posting your finds from the site and thanks for sharing these.

My goodness you've got an incredible spot there. The Hibernia is one of my favorite ever coin designs. That double struck 2 R is a beauty but that buckle frame is absolutely gorgeous Aureus

Thank you! Really like the Hibernia as well.
