Hi from the UK,

I have just found this forum & thought I would add a UK input.
This weekend I found on Saturday a Hadrian Denarius & too top it off on the Sunday I found a Rare Vespasian Denarius.
They are as follows:
Hadrian Denarius. 117 AD. IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG. laureate bust right with drapery on left shoulder / P M TR P COS II, CONCORD below, Concordia enthroned left with Cornucopia beneath, holding patera. RIC 39.
Vespasian AR denarius. IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG Laureate head right / Captive Jewess seated right, hands tied before, trophy of captured arms behind, IVDAEA in ex. RIC 15 RSC 226.
The Vespasian is celebrating the victory & distruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in around AD70. Very historic coin.
I normally only find 1 silver denarius a year but 2 in a weekend is great, I was jumping around the field for awhile!!!
Is anyone interested in my weekly finds?
Being new how do I change my profile picture?
Thanks,
Dugupfinds

Thanks for the quick response.

I have added my Celtic silver Unit of Tasciovanus 20BC-10AD. It was the 7th one recorded with the Celtic Coin Index in Oxford of which there are now 14. I have the best conditioned out of the lot.

awesome stuff. you never know what century your next find will come from. HH :D

Nice ones :P Hope i can show you all similar photos someday. :)

Never was able to hunt the UK for ancients but I used to order them uncleaned from someone who imported them. I sure miss those days. Can you believe I used to get bronze ancients in "crusty" condition for 40 cents each! Most were big coins 24mm on up. I've still got a couple nice silvers I pulled out of those lots. Those days are gone forever. :'(

Great coins!

Thanks for all of your comments.

More to follow after this weekend.

Still thousands of acres to search...........

I don't so much search ancient sites as most of them are protected. I detect where ever farmers given me permission. The site these coins came from may have been farmed but they are over 1 mile away from Roman settlement. However I'm not far off a Roman road & the beginnings of a man made ditch which fed the aquadute to the Roman bathhouse in the town.

Hey mate,
Those are some fantastic coins there, really incredible. Cheers!
