Hit a nice silver sound, but it was reading about 2" down. I usually don't dig coin signals at 2", but I was glad I did. Pulled out a 54 Rosie with that signal. Funny thing is that I found a 54 Rosie on Wednesday also. I have to admit being a little disapointed, but happy to get a silver. The very next signal was similar and again close to the top. A small hole was dug and out popped a fairly nice 1899 Barber Dime. I was stoked. Only my second Barber dime, and it took 30 other silver dimes in between Barbers.
One interesting note is that the Barber's silver is much less tarnished than the Rosie's. How do you account for that? They were literally only a few feet away in identical soil.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could find 1800's silver every day?
