I had no where to go today, ground is way too dry to hunt a private yard, so I went to the local fairgrounds. I looked for an area that my etrac was nulling from the iron almost constantly and then flipped it into 2 tone ferrous and dug anything that was a nickel signal or higher and tried to only dig signals at least 5-6" deep.

I was pretty surprised I found this stuff, I have went over this small area at least 7-8 times before
but I pulled some keepers, 1917 wheat, and 1903 injun, once again the 2 tone ferrous proved itself a useful method in the etrac's many options of ways to hunt

[ I love those "INDIANS" I am looking for a whole tribe!

Hey, the old fairgrounds is still putting out some pretty nice coins. Just think, I had to take you there and show you some of the good spots. LOL

I'm glad you doing so well with the E-trac. I wonder if the good 'ole X-terra 70 would have found those? Would be neat to do a comparison sometime.

nope not even the etrac unless I had it in 2 tone ferrous, in coin mode all I got was a solid null from the iron

yeah that was in parking area, I was hunting today close to the old buildings, there is so much iron you get 4-5 iron hits per swing! with iron disc'd out you get a constant null, but in 2 tone ferrous, you can just pluck out the non ferrous items, no problem

Sounds neat, maybe there is a E-trac in my future. Hey how did you clean that Indian head penny, sure looks good?

all my indians I clean with a soft toothbrush, a drop of dishsoap and water, thats it!

Nice coins, the fairgrounds open to detecting have been hit hard over the years.
It's a challenge to pull anything good, ya have to use todays machine technology to sniff out the oldies! Congrats! ffd

Nice finds that IH is awesome :icon_thumleft: Good hunt Dd60
