Started late at 11 Am, decided to re-hash a couple of the better sites from last year.

Still some snow in cold country too.

French hill did not give up any more so on to another. Never would have expected to find so many tagets on such a small, and hunted a few times already site. A few, and I mean not less than 5 coppers were on top of the ground from the last fall plow. Thank you Mr. Plow.

Here's the "lot".

Dave's included an Irish, I believe was a GEO III

Mine included a 1807 with readable date.

One I thought was a half cent turns out to be a 1813 trade & navagation farthing, pretty scarce.

I may try to clean this one a bit.

Another Conder token. Couple GEO IIIs
Most are toast, but I didn't care as I set a new record with thirteen coppers in a day, and a good one is coming soon.

Dave also found the other half of a nut cracker, early one. What are the odds ?
And a decent navy button, add the pic. when you get it cleaned up Dave. Soon too (laughing)

5 hours, after a looong winter was a marathon hunt for me, and I am pretty beat.

Good luck out there.

Now that's how you start a year! :headbang: I only wish we had that kind of digging today.

That button will clean up great... pretty much full gilt on the anchor.

Dang Rick, you guys killed it!! I would gladly pay some of the farmers around here to plow but that's never going to happen. Great job and I look forward to seeing some more great hunts from you now that the snow is retreating.

You Look like a bad a$$ is that picture. You Canadians are tough!

Wow!, you guys killed it out there!

Yeah, certainly didn't take you long to get a pile of great finds! It's amazing to see those old coppers, I wish I had the possibility of digging them around here. Now us prairie folk are in trouble, the east coasters are back in business!

Killer start fellas! Glad to see you guys kick the door down in a big way on the new season

Boy you know how to make an entrance!

I'll bet your as glad as hell to get out digging up them old coppers!
Well on your way to a record season Rick!

Unbelievable day you guys had. Can't imagine a better way to kick off the year. Congrats!

Congrats on all that early coinage Rick! :notworthy:

That's one way to work out the detecting cobwebs leftover from winter! :laughing7:

Dave

I can't make out the all the words on the back but I am sure I will when I have more time.

And then the colonial nut cracker. I found the first half last year and today the other half. I will make a complete post when I have them all cleaned up.

That is a GEM !
Best of the day, by a long shot.
Very nice.

20 coppers - man that's crazy!! Was that some kind of scattered cache? What a great start to the season. And I bet a few more are hiding under those snowbanks. Can't believe any of that white stuff is still left. Good luck when you guys make a return visit.

now that's certainly better than a sharp stick in the eye!

Nice "Oldies" there, need to get some old stuff here again :occasion14:

Nice finds and some familiar scenery! That button is very nice...don't think I've seen that particular one before...I don't recognize the long lower loop of rope...
