Since today's weather is very unpleasant, I decided to write up a post on how I am doing this year. It has been a very memorable and exciting year. The club and I have hit many interesting areas and met many people along the way. Zoyboy has also proven his research skills by locating some decent "hot spots."

My season totals (so far):
- 47 Indian Heads (Oldest being an 1859)
- 9 Buffalo nickels
- 6 V-nickels (Oldest being an 1891)
- +150 Wheaties
- 3 Colonial coppers
- 1852 Large cent
- 1837 Canadian Bank Token
- 21 silver coins
- 2 "Special" finds: 1853 3-cent silver piece, "Counterstamped" 2-Reale

In the picture: 1942 Walker, 1786 Connecticut copper, 1774 British halfpenny, 1854 Seated dime, 1875-S Seated dime, 1903 Barber dime, and the 2-Reale with CM Berry Saloon "Counterstamped" on it.

*Not pictured: 1853 3-cent silver piece and the badly pitted 1875 Seated dime.

I just hope I can add to these totals before the season ends. Our season ends on December 31st!

HH!

Hey Doyboy,

What part of the country are you located? Out east?

I'm in PA. I use a White's Pro-XL with a 4 X 6 DD coil.

Sounds like a good year to me. :) What is the best IH you have found? I haven't found that many but of the ones I found I managed a very nice 1875. Still trying to scrape up a V-Nickel. Last goal for the year.

My best one would have to be an 1871 in VG shape. I found an 1876 this year, but it isn't too "purty."

Nice totals DB, you did well on finds and research! Good luck with the rest of the season and HH, Mike

Sounds like a good year bud! How long have you been detecting anyways? This is my first full year doing it and I only wish that I had started out when I was younger, but it probably would have gotten in the way of all of my college partying, haha.

Big B, I have been in it for over a year now. I am just getting my time in now because my hours will be limited next year. I will be graduating this May with an associate's degree in Nursing.

What a great year finding a lot of really sweet old coins.
And then of course, all the great friendships you have made,
all the awesome exploring, and fun. Does it get any better?
Keep up the great work, next year will be even better!

Smiles!

Awesome finds. We don't find any of those older coins here, in the 1700 range. But I have to say
I did find a 1717 Munday Thursday coin years ago.

HH, and thanks for the post. Ringfinder

Nice job for the year.....

Set up a picture show in the GALLERY.

It's nice to see the pics

A picture is worth a 1000 words.... CONGRATS DOYBOY

Good luck with getting to graduation and everything. It sucks entering the real world, haha. I wish I could quit my job already and dig full time.
