I remember fondly your quest for your first gold ring of the year earlier this spring. You really had a great year Nat. Thanks for sharing all your adventures and showing us all your goodies in this wonderful post. Congrats and happy holidays!

I bow down, oh Lord of the Rings!!

What's the secret? Don't worry -- I don't think we'll end up hunting the same spots! :)

Congrats, Cheers and HH,

You get my vote for the new "Ring King",,, which reminds me,, what ever happened to our old Ring King, it's been so long since I've seen him post I can't recall his name at the moment...

Hear is a few things we have found.I think the first one is a smalting device?#1 Grandpa's Jacob's rock face looking east.#2 Six inch cannon shell fired from a smoothbore artillery piece![Dr. Dastrup Command Historian U.S. Army Field Artillery center Fort Sill,OK.]
Quite a Large gun, something in the range of a 24 to 48 pounder.Such cannon were not field pieces but were usually naval or coastal defence weapons. There is no record that I am aware of indicating that either Spanish,Mexican,or U.S. forces used such heavy ordnance in Arizona.[Mark Santiago collection Manager Arizona Historial Society]
