Hello 2011. Another year behind us, and a new one ahead of us. I will continue to keep updating our silver finds for Illinois in 2011 as long as you guys want to participate. I think its just pretty cool seeing the number of silver coins coming up out of the ground in our state, and seeing how the numbers will change year after year. Since we are pulling so much out, and no one is replenishing it. This tally is not intended to create any sense of competition, just a simple tally for ourselves to follow. Got out today for a couple of hours with TF and D-Dub. Found a 1920-D Merc. Third year in a row that my first coin of the year is a 1920-D Merc. Also got a 1907 IH.

not bad at all. I was actually out antler shed hunting and realized how soft the dirt was in places (in the woods obviously with a lot f leaf cover). Had to get the detector and give it a shot.

Got a 1960 rosie, 1959d rosie, 1935s Merc, 1936 Merc, and a 1943p War nickel. my total for 2011 stands at 8 silvers.

Got a 1911 Barber Dime today. total for 2011 is now 9 silvers I also got an 1897 Indian but that doesn't count here! LOL!!!

You may be a hard force to be reckoned with this year. Although, I will not be detecting on land for two months in the summer, trying to reach a goal of 20 gold from the water this year. Still setting my goal of silver for 100 from the land though.

Got a 1963 Rosie Yesterday, My total for 2011 is now at 10 Silver coins

Bump me up to 10 I had a good week pulled 2 on monday, and found 5 yesterday, a 23merc, 20Dmerc, 42merc, a 46s rosie, and 47 rosie. I thought i had cleaned this place up last year, but im still finding them....

up here in northern illinois the silver has been taken out of the ground from competion same with fishing its better fishing down in central illinois.I caught the biggest bass ive ever seen down there southern illinois rocks!

I am with you on this post... been in central illinois since 1999 finally decided to leave chicago after living there since 1959.... although it seems the rural areas have been on a major decline for a while now theres still lot more to offer great fishing, lots of places to hunt when hunting season is on, and also lots of places to treasure hunt that have not been picked over yet... i say this because i have found quite a few things here versus chicago...... and the surrounding area... and i have only touched the tip of the iceberg, i have some up and coming hunts that i am excited about... come on spring! i am ready to start swingin.... CENTRAL ILLINOIS ROCKS! HH
