Well it's been one heck of a ride in 2015 with tons of buttons, coppers and iron..not to mention the silver and gold I found. This was by far my best year of detecting in 12 years and I have had some good years. Seems like the research by myself and hunthicks is really focusing in along with our other detecting buddies freakish ability to gain permission...This guys should write a book on it! (yes I am taking notes) lol...
Found over a hundred coins, hundreds of buttons with some decent military in the mix...best year for silver to date... 3 cannonballs and 6 trades axes and many more relics not pictured.
Won't bore you all with the details...but I hope I can at least match 2015 in 2016! I hope you ALL have a Stellar year also!! 8-) Group.webpBrooches.webp50 cent.webpbuttons2.webpDSCN0142.webp2 Reale 1797.webpbuttons.webpcuff.webpcannon clean.webp1873.webp8 Reale.webpGeo 3.webpGold Buttons.webpGeo II 1752.webpGrapeshot.webpLead.webpsilver.webpRP group.webpSilver Ring.webpWW2.webpgold plated.webp1843.webpThimble.webptrade cleaned.webpDragoon.webpCaleb.webpcoins.webp2 RP's.webpfrench cross.webpLC front-1.webp

Some absolutely killer stuff right there. Thats what i dream of hunting - sites like those. :occasion14:

Everything looks great, especially that silver pic! You're definitely in the zone now... both the relic and coin zone!

Thanks IP...It's just a matter of staying focused, continuing the research and leg work!

To me the Dragoons is the clear winner, but the rest of the stuff will look good in the cases too.

trying to think what got me on the banner that day? the Dragoons or the Brooch lol...seems to be a mixed review... Personally I like the Dragoons rosette the most as well...just wish it was in better shape..

Gold did, it's what is marked for your banner if you hit the drop-down.

But either was good enough. Not very often a person digs two finds on the same hunt that are banner worthy... don't think I ever have.... well maybe back before when it was a bit easier, probably not by today's standards.

DANG THAT MAKES ME WANT TO CRY .....

Now that's a pile of goods! , you've had a fantastic season, hope you pull off another great one in 2016!

Hey when you say you had your best there's really only one direction to go from the top of the mountain!
Why not stick around and stay at the top!
For me, I've only had my second best year, I'm leaving room for the #1 position!

A fantastic year for you no question!
I've said it before, I am amazed how every year we pull this off!

I like the idea that there's always something new to find at a long forgotten place!

Or at a place we've driven by for over a decade but never tried!

Awesome year you had, going to be tough to beat in 2016, but I hope you do.

Don't see many Vicky halves posted, and I'm crazy for Vicky coinage.

Lots of good stuff, too much to mention, but a decent Victorian Half Dollar is a good one to mention.

One question is the pewter (real) a button ? As both Dave, and I each have one.

I'd like to have dug a couple of those military.

No not a button but a counterfeit 8 Reale made of pewter

Those are some fantastic recoveries. The Old gold is stellar, so many trade axes, wow. Congrats to you, and best wishes for a great 2016. Thanks for you incredible post!

"What a year" is an understatement. :headbang: I only hope that someday I will have the experience and knowledge to dig something similar to your outstanding finds.
