23 musket balls & more...

I’m slow posting but made it out last week for a hunt with the mrs. We hit two sites and the first was promising but after I dug 14 musket balls and she dug 9 we decided to move on and come back another time. It does get old fast digging those things for a long time straight. At the second site I dug a nice 1888 Canadian large cent, a vintage necklace watch and a heavily silver plated spoon made by WM A Rogers for hotels and trains. This one was obviously for a train because it has C.N.R engraved into it amd that I believe is for the “Canadian national railway”. I hope it’s a older version because WM A Rogers was later bought by Oneida and this spoon is missing that second mark. Thanks for looking! [emoji16][emoji106]

Thats a fun hunt 23 musket balls cool spoon and coinage I wish I had spots like that near me. Great job on all the cool finds

I friend on another site pointed out that the spoon is most likely Canadian northern railway (1899–1923) which used the CNR stamp. Makes it a even better find to me! [emoji16]

Good stuff! Those largest musket balls...are they .75 caliber? If so, they're for the "Brown Bess", the standard British land forces long gun, 1722 to mid 1800's. Cool finds!
