Brings back memories. I flattened a few pennies on a railroad track. I lived right against the tracks as a boy. I never tricked a machine with them.

I never flattened any, but I did find a flattened indian once
I don't remember it being large enough to use as a quarter though.
those stamp machines must have been very easy to fool and trip the mechanism
