Re: Amazing house hunt part II

Very nice, WTG!!!
That old radio is awesome. It's too bad so many of them were simply disguarded.
Also, I'm sure those books are going to be a great sorce of information...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

15 volumes of 1900-1910 archaeological/historical society of Ohio hard bound books...all with incredibly detailed information about people, places and events...a life's work just to try to detect all the spots the books talk about :-) :-) :-)

When your done with them they should go to the a local geneological library...unless they already have copies. Don't give them to the historical society. One of the members will just pocket them for their private collection.

Re: Amazing house hunt part II

Those volumes should hold alot of promise---enjoy!

Re: Amazing house hunt part II

average finds in my opinion ::) ;)
the books alone are worth there weight in silver ;) (maybe gold ;) )

Re: Amazing house hunt part II

Thanks for sharing such an interesting story. The thought of finding antiques works for me. I've found many a great value at old construction sites.

Re: Amazing house hunt part II

Very interesting old House.
Some nice finds there!!
What brand radio??
If it hasn't been powered up
in a long time, might want to
bring it up slow using a Variac
or dim bulb tester- -more info
can be found on some Antique radio
websites.
Congrats & HH

Re: Amazing house hunt part II

Have a similar radio (with the big green eye in the center) in working order sitting in my garage. There's an antique store in Orange that refinishes them and they sell in the high hundreds depending on make and model.

It should be a keeper.
