Was hitting same site got further back in the bush. Got this dog or fox it was beside a wheatie. And this large buckle. Had to cut it short and run over to my mothers real quick during lunch. Will head back this week a some point.

I hope the animal turns out to be a cat and it's from Egyptian revival period but I might be a dog or fox

That little blue one reads rhino to me more than dog or fox. The head has that little horn nub and the body is way too chunky for a dog, so I am guessing it is one of those painted toy animals from the mid 1900s. Check the belly for maker marks once it is dry, that is usually where the ID hides.

The paint holding on like that after years in the dirt is a win by itself. The rectangular frame is likely a suspender or harness buckle, those turn up a lot around old house sites. And a wheatie right next to the critter is a nice sign that spot is worth going back to. Keep working that brush line.

The rhino is not what he's referring to as a dog or fox it's the first photo!!
