2nd Buffalo nickel found today

I think frustration with the site, also what I perceived as unpositive responses, and then the whole thing of watching day after day the view count climbing but no responses..After reading what jeff of pa posted ,I guess I kinda figured the senior guys here should make a little extra effort to comment on the newbie stuff, not just there senior buddy's stuff...

Why would you bother taking them down? I've had some pretty cool responses over a year later.
I can't imagine doing a total finds thread oh my gosh...
Just saying the objects you posted at the time of the find in context with the words you chose at that time would be a bit more meaningful than pictures of bunches of things with no story to go with them ... get my drift?
Anyway... good luck and happy hunting.
I agree with you regarding context and each individual find, but it swings both ways I guess, if the seniors cant be bothered to look at my todays find for 1 yr,they probably don't deserve to know the story

Yep, it does. Both ways. Trouble is, if the new people just take down their stories, attempting to call attention to the problem. Then, the "seniors" who aren't paying attention to the new anyway, sort of get what they want. :dontknow:

Each has to do what they feel comfortable with, but trying to force anything doesn't help anyone.

Hopefully these few responses will bring more around to broadening their responses.

I have over 10,000 posts.. Never once have I paid attention to how many views or likes I have on a thread.
Personally I never pay any attention to whether or not someone is new or senior what interests me is the post and the finds.
Whether or not someone has been a member of treasurenet for a long time really doesn't mean a whole lot when it comes to their experience in the field. Maybe they just started a membership after 40 years of archaeological experience who knows.
Everybody has their own lives and I understand my post is likely not a priority for most people... Just give it time and enjoy the site.

Hope you don't mind but I'd like to post one of my Florida "swamp coins"

yep looks about right, got some still soaking ,but I don't hold much hope for them...Regarding all that other stuff,i don't put much emphasis into statistics,i use those only as a tool to see feedback compare with other threads etc. Or see if I need to set up my post different etc..
I also realize that these finds are more significant to me,and not others...Rest assured these things wont make me lose any sleep

Man.. I'm pretty jealous yours don't even show pitting.
And have all their detail...
I get stuff like this capped bust.
You almost have to take my word for it because it's that bad

Usually I pretty much have to go to a flea market or an antique store to get stuff that doesn't look its age or older.
I'm out
