Was very slim, but expected that where I hunted today, plus the modern garbage gets in the way as well as bugs the hell out of me. Can't see myself wanting to go back and is too bad, but was a great 10 years digging there.

I dug a few buttons and a couple of bullets and was very lucky to come out with something.
Hard to shoot the 55 base enfield, and I'm not sure I even have it the correct way to read, but that's what it is. Dug a couple from the same spot in the past and is a pretty decent find when not smashed in. I also found the 1700s Navy button so I'm two for two for military. My gut says this years button count will make up for a bad 2009.

Get ready PA Bros, the Colonial fists will start to fly soon whether you're ready with another site or not! :headbang:

Rosa Hill?

That's the same button I dug at the French Cannonball site...only thing I found there and as soon as I stepped onto the field.

Yep and nope. Yes the Rosa, but compare your button, it's not the same. These are quite common here so there's a good chance to dig one.

Right button...wrong hunt. To tell you the truth I can't remember where I dug this...maybe the same site as the escutcheon.

I believe you got that one when the three of us went West, back to the little site we had hit once before. I also dug one that day. It was the day the farmer gave us a ride back to the car.

That's what I thought! Must be a pretty common button. Any idea as to era? I'm sure I've asked you before.

I have never heard an exact date but from what I understand about 1770s and on for quite a few years. It's one of the most common buttons I have dug. (Thinking #2)

Nice relics. I would not give up on that spot. There still might be something good there.

The area was great! It's 7 fields and about 15 sites, some dating to the 1700s and producing many Rev War buttons. It was pretty much right where I used to live so every time I got the urge to hunt out the door I went. I know I'll never give up 100% on the place but once a year will probably be good enough. Man I have some great memories of digging there.... it was the first old sites I had ever detected, and didn't have a clue what I was finding! Go figure now that I have a clue about the finds, I have no clue how to keep digging them there. ;D

Seems like a decent back-up spot now for a rainy day :icon_thumleft: Look forward to seeing the new fields' production this year
