So my 7yr old and I hit a park earlier today but that did nothing for my itch for old coins, so when we got home I figured id take a VERY small section of my yard and dig everything, and I mean everything, I get this repeatable mid 50s and mid 70s signal and first target I pull out was the 1907 Indianhead, that makes 20 Indians so far!, as im cleaning It my son pinpoints the hole and says oh here dad its just this, he hands me a 1911 V Nickel!!, SAM_1233.webpI was like really? what the heck lol, so that's an early 1900s coinspill from very close to the time the house was built, man I think im gonna sift the yard in my off time, may yield some killer finds!

No sir. I am not speaking from experience. How is the smaller coil with pinpointing? Is it harder with 6-8 inch targets?

Dead on with the pinpointing, better than the big coil, I rather use it then the big coil. Hardest part was getting used to that it felt like it was taking me forever to cover ground. After using my buddies Deus my last two hunts, I found out it is very hard to switch from using one detector to another. I even tried his smaller coil on his Deus and it felt better to me.

Awesome! But, I'd hold off on sifting the yard. You can do that anytime now. Like I said, don't try to find all the "good" stuff as fast as you can. You have your own lil piece of heaven there. As long as you can keep getting permission, you'll have somewhere to hunt for a very long time!

Enjoy your awesome hunting partner for as long as you can!
Yeah I suppose you're right, I should keep it as a go to kinda place

With the very good target separation of the ATP, and as slow and methodical as you are when you're gridding, I wouldn't think you'd need the smaller coil Chris

I'm very curious to try it, I hear good things about it

Sweet coins Cjon. Your boy will be kicking yours and Dave's butts in no time. :laughing7:
That's great that he is taking interest. Anything to get kids (and adults) off of staying indoors playing video games.
Congrats,
Doug
Lol thanks, I'm training him right, u heard him in the video saying "I'm awesome" lol

Awesome , great start for your kid ! My 10 year old daughter located a spot in woods , 2' area with numerous signals she dug 11 Skelton keys!

Hit everyone else's yard first and save your yard when it is too hot, or you don't feel like driving. Your stuff will stay where it is until you dig it.

Let us bow our heads and ask for a cool breeze today! Oh yeah, me beating you in finds would be nice too! Lol!

There were a coupl moments in yeserdays heat that I was like "whT the hell am I doing out here in this heat" but what can I do, im hooked on relics. I hope ya beat me too lol:laughing7:

There's a fellow at my work that half heartedly detects. Last summer he acted incredulous when I would come back to work after time off and show finds I had made in the heat. You and I both have done stints in construction, so we know weather can't deter you, lol.

Yes cant deter, but can sure make me miserable lol

I worked 33 years commercial roofing in this stuff, I was out yesterday helping my father grocery shop and was wondering how I did it all those years? My machine is down, still waiting for it to return from repairs. If it were here I'd be out now. I miss it, supposed to be 94 and humid, I'm going to go sit on the beach and watch all the beach bunnies (still wish I had my Pro!)

Amen to the beach bunnies! Can you post pics of your finds today? Hope your detector comes home soon and gives you more incredible finds Treb!
