Hey Everyone,
Stormfighter (Dan) and I returned to the spot he got permission to hunt. What a great day. We're concentrating on the spots in the woods right now, there are still crops in the fields. 7:45am we're walking up the trail, Dan spies some turkey, good eyes, cool. First thing we did was check out the 2 other foundations on the property 1/4 mile from the one we hunted last week. Not 10mins. in Dan pulls out a 1904 IH off of the trail leading to the spot, first coin out of here and a first
for him. We hunted this area until about noon and took a break, had a sandwich and plotted the rest of the day. We decided to head back over to the other "older" spot on the property we hit last week.
We're coming down the road to the spot and Dan says "Deer!" cool, I'm only spotting squirrels :D We start the hunt and we're at it for about an hour when I hear Dan say something, I didn't hear him but I see him pointing. I take off the headphones and look at where he's pointing, Black Bear! Holy big one too 250lbs.+. It's only 70-100yds away. I go for the camera but the bear got spooked after I tripped :tard: over Dan's detector and bugged out of there.
Late in the hunt at this "older" spot, Dan found 3 buttons, one after the other in an area away from where we were concentrating our efforts. He called me over and we took it all in. Looking around, we saw no real foundation but we did see a very big mound, with stones in it. The way the stone wall is in this area with it's openings, we figure we MAY have been concentrating on the shed or spring house and that Dan found the area where the house was
We packed everything up and headed out, little did we know there was another animal surprise in store for us. We met the farmer on the way out, he was working on a tree stand. We showed him the finds and offered up whatever he wanted but like last time he declined. The animal surprise? The farmer told us he moved the cattle in, moved them into the field our cars were parked in ;D
Thanks for looking,
Glenn

Those are some great finds! The two flat pieces of metal with slats in them look like parts to a harmonica. I also noticed the milk glass canning covers. I have found one of those myself at a site that I can't wait to get back to!

Really nice finds. Great Sterling piece.
