Went back to the school today that I posted about last time. Current building is from the 1970s but is on the same site as a much older school from the late 1800s. Found 2 Washington Quarters (1962-D and 1952), 1927 Standing Liberty Quarter, 1911 Barber Dime, and 2 Mercury Dimes (1935 and 1940), as well as a silver ring. 45 total silver coins for 2012, almost halfway to the goal of 100. Going back out tomorrow morning to the same site.

Where do you have the most success when at a school? Near the school, around the "play area"... near the sports fields etc? I have just started plotting out a school area and have found a few dollars worth of clad, but haven't had any luck otherwise. (School originally from around 1900).

I have the most luck in sections where the grass is thin. Not surprising as the coins are not as deep there. In general where you find silver does not relate to being near specific things at the school. See if there are any soccer fields where the grass is worn down. Hope this helps.

Congrats on the awesome silver day!!
