Yesterday was our first chance to get to the creek this year. We were at the farthest spot up stream we have permission to hunt. At this spot we must turn around. After an hour of walking, within five minutes we spot these two. First the little one, made our day. Then we both stopped dead in our tracks, both starring at the best point we ever found. Don't know what else to say, just an amazing day. Thanks for looking, sixeight

Super Thin! At first I thought copena classic. But then I was told they are not found in IL. It must be a wadlow/Sedalia something. Any thoughts? Thanks, sixeight

Wow! That is an awesome find!! Congrats!

That is a great blade. Very happy for you. I hope more days like that follow

JMO I don't know who told you that but the shape and style don't lie, it looks like a Copena Classic. Wadlo and Sedalia aren't shaped like that at the base. Copena is a Tn. and Al. point but as been found in related areas, just because you found it where you did ,does not mean it was made there. That's a super find and you are very lucky to have found it whole in that creek full of stone.:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Thats a great day for anyone. 2 nice keepers.

Copena is definitely a more southern point, but I think that's what you have. Wadlow, Sedalia, neither look right to me. It could be a late Paleo lance.

Very cool find. Well done my friend.

I be leaning toward Sedalia myself. This one of mine is from Ill. and similar in form.

Very nice Sedalia Quito.

SixEight - It could also be a Hopewell point. That'd make more sense for the area and is a pretty good match on form. I haven't unpacked my books yet but there is a hopewell type referenced by Tully in one of his books. I believe the Hopewell variety is still more commonly a southern variant, but it could be. My money is still on Copena, but it's another possibility to look into.

Those are super finds. You had a great day. Thanks for sharing.

Man that's one fine point! Others are good to. I'd be on cloud 9 for a long while.

Man I'm super happy for y'all great find !!!!
