I believe the 3rd copper is half of a KG II?

The first spot today was a place that had teased about holding older goodies by previously yielding a 3 cent silver, couple seated times, and some Barbers. As always, this place seems to spit out IHCs like they're going out of style, and at least 5 came out there (could be 6 but I don't recall). Also got a 1906 V Nickel. Later into the hunt got a later-date large cent! Unfortunately can't get a date, but at least it can be identified.

The second spot was pretty slow to start and eventually got a couple of wheat cents, and one or two IHCs. As it was getting dark I got a higher tone and was expecting maybe a wheat cent. But, another copper comes out! I thought it was too thin to be a large cent, but upon getting it home, it was an 1801 Draped Bust!!

A few minutes later, another high tone comes through. But, what pops out is half a copper? Fairly certain it's half of a King George II copper. There is a head outline on the obverse, and what looks like the standard reverse design with the line at the bottom. What do you guys think? Thanks for looking!

that's a great site!, killer finds, id be pounding that site til my arm fell off!
and id say that's for sure half of a KG

Nice finds there. It's def a KG half penny but I'm thinking it's a KG3. I see the nose and flat(ish) forehead, and the "gullet" under the chin. Maybe a 2nd head KG3. Now, the Draped bust is a beauty and looks to be in good shape. What year is that Coronet head LC? 184?

Congrats on a stellar hunt

AWESOME HUNT !!

Nice digs . Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures with us

That's a nice pile of coins, but only 14.5 cents .... lol! Maybe you can pull out a high denomination next time.

Great day!! Thanks for sharing. Those are some old ones

Clean that 1801 up and we'll ID the variety for ya!

Oh man! Put that LC in some olive oil. That joker is amazing! If you can repost that after you clean it.

Nice finds! Wish I can find old coins here in Cali. Not easy

Now that's a great assortment of coins bud.

Congrats on some excellent finds! The 1801 Draped Bust Cent appears to have quite a bit of detail, so I hope it cleans up well!

Ok, cleaner pics posted. Hopefully I didn't butcher it too much. What do you guys think? The reverse has those raised areas, which looks to be rust, maybe it was stuck to a nail?

Thanks all! Nice to have some good hunts like this. I'll continue to look for a date on the Braided hair, but it's not doubtful. Bill D, it was a lot of work for 14.5 cents, haha! Kept hoping for silver, but it wasn't meant to come in that hunt apparently.
