There is a hospital slated for demolition close to where I live so I decided to detect the grounds. The place was originally built in 1925 with additions in the 50's. Its been closed since mid 2000's. I only managed to find 1 silver quarter last yr and this place has given me three already. So far I've found lots of 60-80's pennies and clad, two lonely Wheaties and not a single silver dime. Very odd. The soil is very dark/ soft and many of the pennies have been corroded from fertilizer. There is plenty of ground left to cover so hopefully more will be found!

Are the Canada quarters silver?

Awesome! Nothing like silver in multiples!

through 1967 the Canadian quarters are .800 silver.

Yes and no. Any Canadian silver coin minted before 1920 is actually sterling silver or .925, instead of our .900 in the USA. Also some 1967 and 1968 quarters are 50% silver and 50% copper or .500 of each.
