Looks like it wasn't a crazy day, it was a great day.

What in the hell ARE the silvers? One looks like the back of a Walker, one looks like a baby Morgan....what have you got going on Creskol?

Weird Silvers ???? That Abe Lincoln commemorative half is Fantastic !!! Many of us wish we could have "weird' finds like that one !
Huge congrats !!

Enlarge the pics to the max, and you can see what they are pretty easily. I still don't know what the one on the left is. It looks lie the eagle, etc is engraved rather than mint pressed.

Just looked up the Lincoln half in my Coin World. That's 100 skins in VF20 condition. Regardless, it's a beautiful coin. CHEERS !!!
The one on the left definitely looks like a Seated Half. What year is anyone's guess. Not in great shape
but cool find nonetheless. Great hunt !!!

Thank you, djackson. It was a great day, just unusual finds. I was going to go back today, but it is raining too hard.

The silver in the middle is clearly an Illinois Centennial half 1918 , These original commemorative silver half dollars almost never get dug up ! The mintage numbers are low ( 100,000 for yours ) I must disagree with Jose , I see no details anything like a Seated Liberty half on the coin to the left - I have no idea what the other coin with the Morgan dollar obverse is ? Can you give us a bit of story about the type of location where you found these ?, were they near each other ?

Thanks! :icon_thumright: I was hunting around the smaller of two old foundations on a site in Virginia. The bigger site still has a partial chimney, but the smaller site is just a foundation., maybe 20' x 20'.

Looks like a seated half, but, might be a counterfeit. Hard to tell in that condition and not having it in hand to inspect.

Finally saw the eagle design on the 1st coin pictured ..With apologies to Jose - (who suggested Seated Liberty) - it could be related to a Seated or Capped Bust half - I say related because as creskol pointed out the eagle design appears to be incuse, as though a genuine coin had been pressed against a blank planchet of some kind - interesting ! Creskol , could you get a weight in grams for this piece ? I wonder what the composition is ?

That Illinois commemorative is absolutely insane. Congrats.

Sweet hunt. I love that Lincoln Half, super big silver coin. The coin on the left definitely looks like a Seated Half, I would be tempted to clean it up a bit more. Does look imprinted, but maybe just very worn and now tarnished. Is the token on the right silver as well? Congrats

Very nice! Congrats!

I love those commemorative halves! Such cool and unique coins. I've never found one. If you can get some close ups with better lighting I would love to see these on the TNet banner!!!

Those are great silvers. The reverse on that Lincoln coin is impressive. Congrats on some unique finds.
