300 in CWR halfs today 4/25/11

stopped at 2 banks out of town today and picked up $80 in CWR of Half dollars and got 1969 D and 1965. Stop at another across the street and picked up 220 in CRW halfs and those were a skunk. Did get a nice BU 1999 P but nothing else. I have been having better luck in just asking for halves than ordering boxes. Gets old getting skunk boxes. Did get the dreaded call from WF ... sorry but if you want us to order you more halves we are now charging 7.50 per box. UGH. NO thanks. SO now I need to find another bank that wont charge. BOFA has been great and orders what I need with no questions asked. CHASE not a chance. They wont even order. might try another.

just the opposite for me, wells fargo lets me order all i want, but BOF doesn't. weird how there is no set standard...

WF does not charge me either. But I do have a couple different accounts with them. Roth's & such. Hope they do not start charging . Also I only ask for 1 box a week.. Do not want to make anyone P.Oed at my bank. Doug

I was only ordering from WF one box and it wasnt weekly. It was just when they ordered which seems to be every other week so I was surprised. BOFA I only order 1 a week and I dont have to ask she just orders a box a week for me. all she asks is if I dont want them to let her know so she wont order them. I am sure if I ask for more it wouldnt be a problem.

I suppose every branch has their own rules. One WF in my town charges fees for boxes while another doesn't. My town has 4 WFs, which is great for plastic Dime searching.

Yea bank hoping is great but with the price of gas it is going to be tough hitting a road trip and driving 100 miles plus looking for half and dimes. I now have a bank that will order me boxes and I can pick them up 2 different days. Take some now and then a couple days later come back to get the others.........Matt

I agree with the rise in fuel prices its makes it more of a challenge. But, I am self employed and am out on the road most of the day so I dont go out of my way to stop at banks. If its in my normal route then thats when I stop if time permits. I have 6 banks in 2 blocks just down from my home so those are the ones I try to stop at weekly or every other week and 2 I order halves from.
