Found 1 - 1967 and 2 - 1968. Not too bad.

The teller said they are out of halves now unless I order $1000 worth.

Ring, They may require you to order 1000 at a time but you don't have to pick both boxes up the same day. Say they come in on Fri. You could buy 1 on Fri. Cash what you don't want in and buy the 2nd box on, say, tues. Then your next order would come on the next Fri. And on and on etc. That way you don't have to up-front the whole 1K.

I spend the halves. It wouldn't feel right to turn them back into the bank right after I bought them. I am low on cash right now and will have to wait to buy more halves.

A swing and a miss! Today I picked up $200 in halves.... all 1970 and later. It was the 3rd bank I visited. The first two had no halves, but if I would come back on Monday "a nice man usually brings in a bunch". I think I'm a dollar short and a day late.
