Found a couple cool things in the dry sand a couple days ago and thought i'd share them:

Found a live large caliber bullet. Not sure what caliber it is. Anybody got an idea? I was thinking it may be an anti-aircraft round maybe.

Found a very old Japanese coin called a Kanei Tsuho which don't have dates but there are a few ways of determing its approximate age, there is no mint mark on the back which means it was made between 1636 and 1769. It is also composed moreso of brass than the later versions which tend to turn an orange color.

That looks like a .50 BMG bullet.

Yep,looks like a .50 to me.My grandfather was shot in the head on Okinawa....and lived!

Holy crap. Seriously? God was watching out for him. So many died on that island.

Yep,I still have his helmet.Sniper in a Palm tree.....he was a sniper himself

Very cool coin too!!!

That's incredible glad to hear your grandpa made it.

I'm out looking for gold and plat but these 2 finds have to be my favorite non-precious metals.

To me, that helmet would be worth more than any treasure. God bless that generation of heroes. When I watch The Pacific I think that war was much brutal and bloodier than it is now. Those men were something else.

Amen!
