Found a rev button today at a old colonial site. 37th regiment of foot British officers.. Also 1749 King George II half penny, my oldest coin with a full date.

The last piece of iron is half of a full cheek snaffle horse bit. They haven't changed much in 200 years and I've found blacksmith forged ones on 18th century sites.

Are you sure the 1749 KGII is a halfpenny? Looks like farthing sized, but I could be wrong. Britain shipped about 30% of the entire mintage that year to Massachusetts as reimbursement for expenses incurred during the Lewisburg expedition on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. While I'm sure some made their way over just through normal trade, it's fun to think of any dug example as part of that payment; adds a cool bit of history to them. Nice finds!

Yup, farthing! Regal KGII farthings are about 23mm with the US quarter being a little over 24mm. There were way less farthings than halfpennies in circulation at the time so it's a fairly uncommon find. Obviously the Rev War button takes the cake for the hunt, but the farthing isn't too shabby by itself!
