4/10/07 casino nickels & halves

Pretty good assortment today. $1,000 in halves produced four 40%ers (65, 67x2, 69), a 2005-D, two holed halves (1983-? & 1999-P) and a 1974 with a sticker on the back that says "Aunt Chilada's Easy Street Cafe" which I googled and found is a restaurant on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Cool! Anyone been there?

$40 in nickels and here's what I got -

All in all a great day!

If my memory serves me correctly, is that sticker red and white? I swear the box of halves that I got a week ago,had two of those stickers on the halves.

Your nickel searching has inspired me to buy the Jefferson nickel collection books. This evening I went to Barnes & Noble and picked two up...one is from 1938-1961 & the 2nd one is from 1962-1995. I haven't done many nickels but I know I won't have a problem filling that 1964 slot.....ha!

If you have a slot filled and find a better looking one...do you swap it out?

Sure do, but only in my first 1938-1961 book (I have four of them). I'll be interested to see how quickly your books get filled, LJ. Good luck!

No colors on this one. Only a white sticker with black lettering, just about covers the eagle.

Yes the sticker covers most of the back, the ones I saw were red with white lettering. I don't understand why I found halves with that sticker here and you found them there Especially since you said it's in South Carolina. lol

Yeah, I'm in NC and I find those alot. Never on any silver though.
