4 bits of Silver and some 'crusty' copper

Hi All,
Spent my Saturday afternoon back on the farm were I found my first hammered last year - the field once more in stubble so I was hoping for another one - no such luck, but I did dig up a couple of things.
4 bits of silver, George III 1817 Sixpence:

Victoria 1843 Sixpence:

George VI 1941 Scottish Shilling (one that I'd not ticked off in my book as having so very pleased with it - come up in great condition too)

and a poor George VI 1946 Sixpence:

Other 'crusty' copper coins ranged from a George II Halfpenny, George III Halfpennies to George V Pennies - some very thin ones in there too; a bit too far gone for any positive IDs:

Other finds included 4 Buckles:

Quite a few Buttons:

and other stuff, Half a Bull Ring, Musket Ball, Heavy Solid brass Knob, 4 teeth of a broken comb (pewter or bronze, not sure) etc. I've put the Circle-decorated pierced object (left of picture) in the 'What is it' post

He has a few more stubble fields to go over if I can get the time before he sets them again - there must be another hammered on there somewhere!

I don't know if its the soil or all the chemicals that do all the damage. Those decimal coins in the bottom picture have only been in there a few years and already lost much of their detail...

Stick to the system & the hammered will come, they are funny buggers, found 4 on our first outing on our current field. After the deep plough, we thought there must be more in that area, but none, they all came from areas which were previously blank...

Nice going on the silvers, the greenies take a beating from the chemicals for sure.
It's good when one stays under till it gets turned up by a deep plough.

My sister is thinking of opening a B&B here in Derbyshire one day, I'll let you know! and one of the farms I go on do have a few cottages to rent (self-catering) - As for public land to hunt, only the UK beaches are free to all - (and they are miles away from Derbyshire) - Permission is always sort for (and sometimes hard to get).. Have got 3 exclusives though at the moment. :icon_thumright:
All the best.

With the acid ground so it is difficult to find a nice hammered ..... the hammered are very sensitive to acid soil.
but good modern silver.
Greetings! :hello:
