I normally shoot for coins because i'm not usually in relic rich areas, but holy cow, finding relics is completely awesome. I get it now. it was an amazing experience getting to detect in Germany. I already posted in the what is it forum for some of the items, but this is to post the whole day. I found coins from the 1600's to WW2. Some jewelry (medieval?) but also a button from the Napoleonic wars.

Nice finds. Thanks for sharing...

Really nice group.

It will be interesting to hear what some of the pieces were used for.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Looking good.
Closeup pic of the bronze item lower left with the shamrock shaped ring would be great. Front and back please.

Agreed, not seen that before, although it reminds me of a Roman furniture fitting. (although parts of the design look Medieval, so probably not)

Would you say that the Cloak Hook is 17th C or a bit earlier?

Very nice mix of relics and coins.

I'd say late 16th to mid 17th C.

XSully777,

Definitely a number of nice finds, the large piece of book clasp is especially nice. What part of Germany did you do most of your hunting. Glad you enjoyed your time in Germany, the detecting here is amazing. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

Here are some pictures of it. Being from America and a newbie, I thought I had found a key when I saw the trefoil. Boy was I wrong.
I'd say late 16th to mid 17th C.

I've spent a lot of time in Germany over the years. I lived in Crailsheim for about 9 months, and I've probably spent a total of 16 months in Germany over the past 5 years. During that time I've made a lot of friends, and some of them like to detect and one had some fields in Bavaria. I've already flown back to the U.S., but I already can't wait to go back.

Really cool finds. I can only imagine the stuff you can find in other countries. Maybe one day I’ll be able to detect somewhere outside of the USA.

Can you get us some close of pics of the coins? Good work!

I'm very curious about this piece myself. I am going to give it to my wife next week as she is becoming catholic and my understaing is the trefoil represents the trinity. I attached the pictures to another reply.

The long item (see image with arrow) looks like a handle to a ladle similar to a ladle I have.

Can you show a close up of both sides please?

Mid to late Medieval. Could be a fancy drawer pull, i tend to say horse harness decoration.

It is about 2/3s of a bracelet. How old? I'd like to know
No.1 - Some kind of late 19th - early 20th C bit (no idea on function)
2. 1550-1650 Cloak (Clothes) Hook (hooked into a missing hasp - loop)
3. Medieval bronze Furniture drop handle
4. 18th C small Shoe Buckle (or hat buckle)
5. No idea, but nothing that special
6. French early 19th C Button - 56th Line of Foot.
