Went to a friend's old farmhouse in Gratz this a.m. hoping to score some silver. After 2hrs it was obvious the place had been back filled when I pulled a memorial cent from 9 inches and then pulled a wheat from 1 inch!
Ended up with a 1916 Wheat, 3 quarters, a nickel and 5 memorial pennies.
Started the drive home and passed a park/pool that I know my uncle has searched in the past. Pulled a u turn and went back for 2hrs. GREAT decision! First coin was 10ft out of the truck, a 1977 Canadian penny. Next coin was 5 more feet...a 7 inch deep Barber Dime, my first!!! 1907
Continued on my way and ended up finding a bunch of newer clad. Noticed a public restroom and figured i'd try in front of it to see if anyone dropped anything on their way into them. First target was an old Makeup case, I cam make out the letters/words "----eian Bloom" across the top. something in the middle and "made in the usa" on the bottom. Took two steps and got a sweet ear bleeder from the etrac. Six inches of crushed stone later I got to clay....3 inches of clay and finally out comes a no date SLQ!!!! Again, my first!!!
Total for the day
