Went to a friend's old farmhouse in Gratz this a.m. hoping to score some silver. After 2hrs it was obvious the place had been back filled when I pulled a memorial cent from 9 inches and then pulled a wheat from 1 inch!
Ended up with a 1916 Wheat, 3 quarters, a nickel and 5 memorial pennies.

Started the drive home and passed a park/pool that I know my uncle has searched in the past. Pulled a u turn and went back for 2hrs. GREAT decision! First coin was 10ft out of the truck, a 1977 Canadian penny. Next coin was 5 more feet...a 7 inch deep Barber Dime, my first!!! 1907 :headbang:
Continued on my way and ended up finding a bunch of newer clad. Noticed a public restroom and figured i'd try in front of it to see if anyone dropped anything on their way into them. First target was an old Makeup case, I cam make out the letters/words "----eian Bloom" across the top. something in the middle and "made in the usa" on the bottom. Took two steps and got a sweet ear bleeder from the etrac. Six inches of crushed stone later I got to clay....3 inches of clay and finally out comes a no date SLQ!!!! Again, my first!!!

Total for the day
Gas Rebate: 2.02
Canadian: .01
1907 Barber Dime
No Date SLQ
Compact
Silver "box" with Olin on it
1916 Wheat.

Awsome Buddy !

I Know that park had some more Goodies !

Glad you were the one to get them

Honestly, I don't know. My uncle Jeff gave it to me when I started detecting. it is nice because it is very narrow and long, so I don't have to cut huge plugs to get down deep.

digging blade is 8 inches
handle is 4 inches
width of blade is 2inches

works like a dream!

thanks all :icon_thumright:

Tex, yes this machine is simply amazing on silver. This park was no doubt hit recently by a coin shooter. you could see all the fresh marks where coins were plucked from 1inch deep or less and then not stepped back down >:(
Even at these depths, the silver coins literally let out an ear bleeder signal. I feel like I am cherry picking because since getting the etrac a few months ago I've dug clad, silver, rings, compacts and VERY little actual trash. It is very satisfying emptying the bag at the end of a hunt and seeing 90% coins and only about 10% trash. You know how it was last year for me, I found my share of coin, but I dug 5 pieces of trash to every one, so I'd saying this was well worth the money!

What kind of detector were you using before buying the etrac?

BTW...awesome Barber and SLQ. I have never dug either one. :notworthy:

Friend, are my eyes lying to me, or do I see a mint mark on that gorgeous barber dime? Couldn't magnify it enough here to tell for sure.

No mint mark, not sure how that showed up on the pic, but it isn't on the coin :D Still a gorgeous silver, pushing for my top favorite with my Walker!

Baldingboy, I was using a single tone whites classic 4. I did well, but dug a LOT in order to get the goodies!
