I got back in the water yesterday morning (Monday) and did some swinging with the ATPro. The weather is getting cooler so I am doing a little cleaning up of swimming areas to see what people left me over the summer. As usual I found my share of pop tabs and foil, but I’m doing my bit to clean up the park. I found a few spills in the process and about an hour into the hunt I got a nice solid mid tone with 45-47 on the VDI in knee deep water. I scooped up a nice little gold ring with a ruby in it (I tested the stone). It is kid size and is religious in nature (Madonna on both sides). As I went on I found a nice batch of cheapy jewelry including another pair of earrings (2 pairs last water hunt). The last scoop of the day was for a high tone 81-82 which usually means dime, but this time it was a silver ring with marcasite stones and mother of pearl.

All together I found 25 coins with a face value of $2.55, another zipper pull, a brass ring off of something, a Chuckie Cheese 2003 token, only 1 sinker! A live 22 round, a stem fossil found in the scoop, 5 cheapy earrings, 1 cheapy and 1 silver earring back, a cheapy ring with czs, a copper ring marked Betsy Johnson, 2 silver rings and the gold ring. A good haul for 4 hours of swingin.

I had more time so I went to campus to see what I could find with the CZ21. Nothing great, but the quarter count was high so a good hunt. 56 coins with a face value of $6.02, a Craftsman folding box knife, a smiling flower pendant and a vaping device.

Saturday I went to an old school yard that has produced some silver in the past with high hopes. Unfortunately a high penny count with no wheaties and only one HOT find. I did find a hot water faucet handle and a copper roof fastener, the usual junk, 95 coins with a face value of $3.50 (high penny count, 65).

Sunday I was on campus mining the curb strip between the parking lanes. Again lots of clad with a few interesting bits. 116 coins with a face value of $5.33, a Star Trek science officer pin, a Seven Springs resort pin and a heavy junk pendant engraved with the name Michele. I also found a nice chunk of the backsplash from an old cast iron stove. More evidence of the old farm and more reason to cover the whole area to see what else is still hiding.

So a busy 3 day weekend with lots of clad from the land and some good jewelry from the water. Throw in a few interesting tidbits and you have a fun time.

Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.

I really like that gold with the red stone. So cool and classy. Nice find!

I do too. If only it was a little bigger. As it is it won’t even fit my granddaughters. Keep swingin.
