I had to read this one Twice to make any sense of it





I'm guessing the Grains of Gold were sealed in tissue paper that had to Dissolve

or pasted under the stamp or the Envelope Seal

Looks like he was aiming for ti-tech (at that time) pen. Stylos were the first mass-produced fountain pens to achieve broad market success; the inventor responsible was Duncan MacKinnon, a Canadian druggist. MacKinnon's "ink pencil" was patented in Canada and Britain in 1875 and in the United States in 1876.

I think the miner made some paper and incorporated gold into the paper slurry before allowing it to dry.
