All the star denotes, is that the last bill with that serial Number was Destroyed by the mint.

and yours is a replacement.

since replacing notes is a regular thing at the mint, it isn't rare.

SORRY

Maybe a buck or two over face value if it is really crisp and almost uncirculated, if it is uncirculated then it might be worth something.

I use a book that I found at Barnes and Noble. The Official Red Book. A guide book of United States Paper Money. Pretty easy to use. Hope this helps, HH Art...

Jeff,
Thats not entirely true that star notes are not rare.? Some are fairly rare.? I sold two $2 star notes with serial numbers that begin with I for over $125 each.? It just depends on the mint.? Some of the older ones maybe worth more.

Not tru about rarity.... Star notes are higly collectible notes.. I've sold $1 star notes for up to $25 dollars.. The lower the serial number the better, in which your case, you have a 6 digit serail number, which makes it a nicer find.
I've got a $5 Star note series 1999 serial number 00070007* these bills are even worth more. A strange number makes it more valuble, but the combination makes it really rare...

Nice bill put it on ebay, thats where i sell mine...

Really crisp similar bills have gone for over $100 on eBay. In this condition it still should sell at a premium. Maybe $5-25 over face.

I'd say list if at face value and cover your shipping charges. Represent it very accurately and see what it does.

good question. Ironing doesn't seem to hurt it with very low heat. Don't burn it, that's bad.
