54 Seated IQ test

So smitten was I by ILLINOISDOUG's 54 Seated quarter that I couldn't resist making a comparison with one I found last year. Thus, another IQ test is born: which would you rather dig, his or mine? Again, congrats on a real beauty, though I should clarify that his dad found it!

Very nice coins and in reguard to which to dig "no comment" I did read the other posts and replies about the found 54 seated.Gee so my IQ must be 300

Tough call on which is #2; mine has more detail, but lots of tarnish to hide it.

ah I'd hit that sucker with Wright's liquid silver polish - it might look really good after that... but then I like gleam..L

I dug one, but it was holed. otherwise a nice coin. I made it into a necklace for my wife.
The second one for me.

I use baking soda, wet the coin good put some baking soda on 2 fingers and gently rub the past, you may have to do it a few times but it works well.... Good Luck.... TnT

I agree. The baking soda is fairly safe. I've cleaned a few coins with baking soda, and then
sent them off to be slabbed, and they were fine. I discussed this with a few numismatists,
and the general consensus was that dug coins are normally going to be marked as "environmental damage"
so the cleaning is besides the fact.
