5th gold ring w AT Pro

I just found my 5th gold ring or my 6th gold peice with my AT Pro
It rang up 54-55 about 3" deep.
It's only 10K but made my day!

Yeah pretty much lol, you gotta dig the trash to find the good stuff. I've been diggin since mid Dec. with the AT pro. Trashy areas are really frustrating. I usually move on to the field with no signals. Then dig all the low and high tones. Edges of basketball courts, soccer ball and foot ball fields are good to me. Any where people gather.

I'm getting my AT Pro on Monday, bought it from Bart at BigBoysHobbies.NET. Reading this post has been really informative, thank you. I will be hunting mostly parks myself and was curious as to what coil size you are using? From what I've read and the videos I've seen, if you are hunting trashy areas without the 5X8 or 6.5X9, you'll get too much interferance.

You have made a great choice on that machine! I upgraded to the 5X8 coil and has been awesome. It really has made the difference.
Even with the smaller coil, if the area is really trashy I tend to move on lol

Wait, I thought running iron disc too high will mask good targets hidden under/close by to iron like nails. I've customed mine notching out anything under 50 and iron disc is set between 26-28, sometimes 30- but at 30 I feel like I'm missing stuff.
With sensitivity, under normal circumstances I set it two bars from max and higher when in the woods and dealing with a lot of leaves and brush.
Doesnt running in zero mode with iron at 35 make you crazy? Tell me a little more!

I don't know yet, but I'll keep TNet posted almost everyday with my AT Pro experiences. I have NO problems telling people what notch/disc I'm running.
Tell us more jcobb please.
Anything under 50 sounds a little high to me though from what I've read and all the videos I've seen, but like I said earlier, I don't get mine till Monday so I'm no pro. 2 days GAGH!!!!

Thanks for this topic. just getting my AT PRO and only finding pennies that are half rotted is getting frustrating.

I will set at 35, wide open sensitivity and see how it goes.

Anyone want to watch my back and run the transients off before they approach me?
