5x8 Coil

Okay , help me understand. i'm a little confused with coils used by Garrett Ace Detectors , and i'm a little confused about the coil you are discussing here. I bought a used Garrett Ace 350 in a pawnshop yesterday. It has the large wide scan coil. Its maybe a little large for coin hunting but not large enough to warrant buying another coil. Or am i missing something ? Do I need the coil you are talking about here or are you viewing this as an up grade for the 150's/250's ? I hope I got all that right.

They are talking about the AT Pro.

Found this beauty Friday in the river with my 5x8. Smaller coil makes it so much easier to pinpoint under water when you definitely need the accuracy. <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=908411"/>
Yes
Exactly made pinpointing in murky water so much easier , that's one reason though I want a water proof pinpointer , already missing my atp pro and 5x8 coil I did very well with that setup

the 350 comes stock with a 8 by 11 coil you could get the 5 by 8 for it if you are in a real trashy area. I use to use the 350 and it is a coin magnet good luck the 350 will find the targets.

Roaddust66, the Ace 350 has an 8.5X11 DD coil as standard. Its a great coil, but some like a smaller coil in trashy areas. The Ace 5X8 DD or 4.5 concentric sniper coil are options for hunting in trashy areas.

Let me know how you do with it.
I gave it a shot for a while , found some clad but most of the good stuff is deep and I can just pick it up with the big coil , i am sure it will work just have to have the right situation plus it was raining and cold so wasn't a great day to be experimenting.

It never comes off my machine.

put my 5x8 on a couple months ago....got signals I am sure i missed in some regular hunting areas. Put the big coil back on yesterday and had so much junk it was crazy.....small coil going back on to stay this week. easier to pinpoint and so much easier to use in the parks and tot lots.

Ive never used the at series so i dont know for sure. It seems funny though that the ace 250 was better than sliced bread to most...then the 350 took its place with the bigger, badder and deeper coil. Now the at series are out with the coil that made the 350 so much better...and now everyone seems to want the smaller coil now...lol
