[h=2]Minelab CTX 3030 unearths major treasure in Mexico[/h]
Minelab%20CTX%203030%20Mexico%20find.jpg

March 2014 - Guerrero, Mexico: A large silver cache, which is possibly dated from the early 19[SUP]th[/SUP] century Spanish trade, was unearthed at nearly 6 feet (1.8m) below the surface in southern Mexico using a Minelab CTX 3030 metal detector.
The finder reported to Minelab “I have used other metal detectors in the past and they did not work. Only the Minelab CTX 3030 was able to pick up the signal and without it, I would have never found this cache.”
The current market value of silver is approximately $21 USD per troy ounce, which puts the estimated value of the cache over $100,000 USD; however, if the cache is confirmed to have historical significance, the estimated amount would likely result in an even higher value.

Didn't people learn anything, with the California find. "Were from the Government, and that's ours".............Thank You

Wonder how many aluminum cans they dig???

NICE! Question; Don't people get buried that deep? HMMMM Makes one wonder! Truely a nice find, wished I would have found it!

Guess Minelab is going to sell some detectors now!

People never learn. And they find this stuff so easily.
Why cant I find some thing.
And guess what happens when I do.

That is a beautiful find and I would dig 50 feet with my bare hands to find it lol....Just have to be patient.

i had a slamming silver signal that was in wet clay i dug down 4 ft befor giving up just b/c i didnt think minelab could go that deep, gess i need to reopen that hole

Nice

let's see I dug close to 3 feet in Mud for Beer cans, but
6 feet deep in dry ground ?
I would have given up at around 12" :(

Sounds like a Minelab ad to me.
Exactly.. yep the wave is dying time to sell what they can't sell.

I been away from detecting well over a decade and now back in the hunt and also looking for a new MD.

So I'm not in the loop ..can you tell me about this Cali find where the Government stepped in ? I would love to read about it.

Thanks

Funny... I searched a lot of reputable news organizations and can't seem to find any thing other than the apparent advertisements...

would you alert a news source that the AP may follow up on ?

at least Sending it to a manufacturer, or posting it on a site like this,
IF you get a Visit, You can say you lied.

It's obvious from some of the responses here

odds are even the IRS would take this with a grain of salt since the AP didn't pick it up :laughing7:

in short,
If you find a treasure, Alert TreasureNet & the manufacturer .
Deny everything to the Media

Wouldn't do me any good...........my wife would never dig that deep

I've been pondering this for a while..
So hypothetically..
What could you do if you found a cache of gold or silver worth a bunch of money?
Most states will confiscate it claiming some historical crap..
Or that or belongs to the govt somehow..
leaving you with nothing..
And maybe even a fine in some states..
Do you melt it down and EBay it? Lol
It would be frustrating and discouraging to say the least..

After about a 2 foot hole I gave up I couldn't reach down any further, maybe I should go back and keep on digging with a bigger shovel.
