Finally my friend I hunt with sometimes took me to a good new yard spot that he got permission for. Usually it's me taking him to a new spot. The yard so far produced a total of 16 old coins.
14 large coppers and 2 silver Vicky five cents pieces. There was a little hill I was eyeing up but he went up first and got the 1873 & 1897 five cents. I was jealous but I've pulled out old silver in front of him many times so it was his pay back time. I only have pictures of my share of the finds to post. I got 2 mystery tokens (blank discs),1832 Nova Scotia half penny token,1861 New Brunswick one cent, and 1893,1899,1901,1901,1906 Canadian large cents. I'd say he got the better condition coins plus the silver but at least I beat him on the count.
9 for me to his 7. We always have a friendly competition going on when we hunt. The only thing to do now is wait for the grass in the not mowed big section to go down. Hopefully my old silver is in there waiting for me. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

Wow. I was thrilled to pull ONE Large Cent out of the ground. I can't even imagine what pulling 6 out is like. Nice!

Man you are a large cent magnet!

Haha
It drives my buddy crazy when we're out most of the time but he's getting real good and harder to beat nowadays. I would've loved getting them two silvers on him first! [emoji2]

Wow, nice productive hunt. Congrats on pulling all those keepers. Looks like a great site.

It's driving ME crazy haha! I think I've only ever dug four Canadian large cents. The vast majority of cents I've dug from the Canadian large cent era are Indian and Wheat cents.

The five cent silvers are really cool to dig, how many have you found?

I can't remember off hand how many Canadian silver five cents I found. Not as many as dimes. I know at least 26 in one spill if you count the little Newfoundland five cents! [emoji2]

Yeah I remember that spill, legendary! I just went and counted mine and I have dug 26 from 1891-1920 over seven years. As many as you found in one spill, that's crazy.

Hopefully someday one of us will dig the elusive 1921 5 cent fishy

Man! that place is loaded

You guys just picked off all the easy ones, get back on there and dig every whisper, it"ll say "I'm silver"

That's a real great group of coins! Excellent hunt

Great coin hunt, congratulations! :occasion14:

I agree and it was just one yard and it's the same type untouched yards all along the very close neighbours on either side. Hope because they seen us there they will let us do their yards next! [emoji106]

That's a Killer hunt!! I'm sure there's still plenty to find too, Congrats!!
