On Saturday I spent 8 hours in a park. I detected four different areas and came up with nothing but nails, can slaw, pull tabs, and one .22 shell. Not even a stinkin zincoln for my troubles.
Once I finished detecting I tried gold panning for the first time. No gold. I didn't have high hopes as most of the gold in the state is further south than my location. Still one tiny bit of flour gold would of been nice.
That evening went through $20 in nickels. No silver.
Today I tried magnet fishing for the first time. Got one tin can. Not really counting this as a hit as I saw it in the water. I was finding it relaxing. Though the small magnet I had was rated at 45 lbs...it's more designed for hanging items. Then disaster struck...the entire rope went into the water. I'd purchased a 120' polyester rope and had only unlooped about 20 ft. from the bundle. So most of the rope was floating in the fishing pond. It wasn't deep so I made an attempt to go get in...No go it was was too slimy to go in more than a couple of steps.
Before leaving I broke out the detector one more time. On my second target...FINALLY A KEEPER. Dug a few more targets...more can slaw. Dug a '74 cent. Decided to pack it in for the day. Finally found another cent in the Coin Star.
Roughest treasure weekend in forever. But the keeper makes me happy....
There is a "D" at the very bottom of the reverse of the Pin and it is non-magnetic.
