I don't think the Tiffany mark will add much more value over scrap being mono'd, but I believe this makes my score of sterling Christening cups up to 4 maybe now, unless I scraped the one I think I have made in Mexico. I know I have two put away that came from Sweden and they bothhave beautiful engraving.

Yeah it's house cleaning season and the big thrift stores in town have vehicles lined up on the weekends dropping donations off. I hit all of them just about twice a day when I'm not out of town. When I'm out traveling I have other hunts along the routes I go by and I'll always stop and have a quick look around. So many people are moving to Colorado and the Denver area and I believe they bring with them the so called heirlooms they've somehow ended up with and buy a house and then decide these things they recieved aren't worth keeping and just take them to the thrift store just to clean the clutter. This I'm aware of when my darling says we need to clear out some of this junk in spring. She has absolutely no eye for valuable things as so many do and at cleaning time she wants it all gone asap. Then she goes and buys all new.

That’s the introduction date though, and patterns were often produced for many years. The Tiffany mark itself is in a style used from 1965 until present day.

He comes to spend the night just about every Friday, which is non stop work, play and exercise for the little developing youngster, except for nap-time. Kid can wear me out. He'll be turning 3yrs. Oct 11 and his 2nd Disneyland trip is already booked for his birthday.

Tiffany started out in 1837 as “Tiffany & Young”, selling stationery and fancy goods imported from Europe, India and the Far East. They became “Tiffany, Young & Ellis” in 1841, adding a small range of imported silverware to their offerings by around 1846. By 1847 the range had expanded, with the addition of many items mostly made by leading New York City silversmiths. Often the actual maker mark appears together with the Tiffany stamp.

One of those New York makers was John Chandler Moore, who worked exclusively for Tiffany but in a business partnership of two separate companies. Moore’s business was acquired in 1868 and absorbed into the company as “Tiffany & Co”. From then on, using Moore’s expertise and that of his son Edward, Tiffany increasingly made their own silver goods, expanding into flatware in 1869, and sold them alongside the pieces from external makers.

Since then, it’s been a mixed bag, with the majority of their stock produced in-house or by wholly-owned subsidiaries. Today, for example, around 60% of their jewellery comes from their own factories in the US.
