Just did a quick assessment; as we are quickly approaching the midpoint of the year.

Just looking at half dollars, and the amount of 90%ers vs 40%ers I've found already this year, I noticed an interesting similarity.

For May, when rounded, 90%ers represented 22% of all silver halves found (46/207).

Looking at YTD, when rounded, 90%ers represent 22% of all silver halves found (266/1234).

Conversely, in each case 40%ers represent 78% of my silver half dollar finds.

Anyone else experiencing anything like this ?

I'm around 10-11%.
You seem to be pulling a high % of the 90's.

I am around 23% 90.

In general I have found that I need to search about 25 rolls to find a single 90% and 8 rolls to find a single 40%.

Mine for this years is running 24.25% 90% and 75.75% 40%, basically 3 40% for every 1 90%.

My 90% rate is right at 13% & obviously 87% for the 40%.

That is a very nice 90% rate Thurm, GT & Wayne. Gotta like that! Keep em coming......

Can't compare to past years since I only started searching halves consistently at the end of 2006, but for this year.

90% (JFK, Ben, Walkers) make up 28.15%
40% JFK make up 71.85%

See my end of month summary for April for my breakdown of how often I find them per roll.

Hmmm, I am running a paltry 5.5% 90's to 93% 40's, with about 1.5% between proofs and post 2001's.

I am basing this on my sig line which I know is a bit low as I have not updated the halves part in a few weeks.

I am at 30% (120 90% & 395 40%)
