Hey guys & gals I haven't posted any finds for a long while because I really haven't hit many thrift shops in months but these are my only finds for the last 2 months. When I go out for jewelry I just look in the junk jewelry section and this is what I found, 3 marked sterling necklaces and 1 pendant stamped 950. The pendant only weighs 1g and it has mother of pearl inset on the front of it so the platinum can be a lot less than 1 gram and the sterling is 15g, but its my 1st platinum that I have found. I don't have any testing acid so I have no idea if anything is real but I only paid 99c to a few dollars for each piece so if the plat is a fake im not out any real money at all. Happy Hunting everybody and a merry Christmas and a happy new year!!! :skullflag: :skullflag: :skullflag:

950 is most likely silver and 950 silver melts just like 925 alot of the time, people aren't always true to their stamps

Cool score ! Just a FYI but I had some butter knives awhile back that I got for a quarter each because the guy who had them assumed they were Silverplate. I bought them because the wife wanted to make redneck wind chimes out of them. Noticed an odd hallmark and after much poking around on Google I discovered it was French .950 Silver.

By the picture it almost looks like the loop is sterling and the pendant is Platinum. :icon_scratch: I'd take it to a high end jewelry store and if they say its Plat. I'd take the first offer. :laughing7:

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Yep .950 = either silver or platinum & it's more common for platinum than silver as most .950 silver that I've seen is foreign, old & thus marked with a hallmark/symbol not a number.
