Bring more liquid to last longer.

Feel your pain. Its 5pm and 98°

It is hard to do much in that kind of heat for very long at all. I am glad you were able to at least find a couple pieces and also that you knew when to stop. I find it real easy to over do it and get heat exhaustion. Much water and occasional breaks in a cool area, when possible, can be a real help (even a vehicle with AC running for a bit). My biggest problem is I fail to take breaks.

I know the feels. It's 110 where I'm at right now and it wont drop below 100 until after 10PM. July will be even warmer. But like it was mentioned above, it's good that you know when to stop. I've seen way too many people suffer heat stroke and its no fun for anyone. Plus its nice that you found a least a couple of things. :icon_thumright:

When I used to drywash in central Nevada I preferred summer because it kept the ecotourists away. 100 degrees meant they do not come out. It's a beautiful thing.

Got ticks and deer flies. There is one less tick though I flushed it down the toilet after I pulled it off my back. I ended up going back out this afternoon and found 3 points. 1 is only a .5 inch long will post in the morning on those.

Man Rock…you are a machine…I got wiped out just walking to the mailbox today.

Yes its 2 months early for this heat. The pottery piece is a new design for me.

yea, all the rain we have had here the humidity is crazy. 70 feels like 100.

ticks here in new york are terrible too this year. My dog is 6.5 years old and in that 6.5 years I have only pulled one tick off of him, until this year...in one week I pulled 7 off of him. That was just from our yard.

I don't mind sweating to look for artifacts but when you are looking down and it is pouring into your eyes like a facet its time to go home. I had to leave before 12 noon but did return later at 5 pm.
