Thanks, Doug. I know how hard they are to find, that's why it was on my list.
I Think I saw one posted at some point, somewhere.
The only ones I can find for sale are non dug ones. I am REALLY lucky!!!

What an AWESOME transformation Buddy....Great Job!!!!! Because of it's rarity I would consider this a BANNER FIND and most people would agree. Now I'm second guessing the trophy recipient ;D Awesome find Ty.....Congrat's :occasion14:

Thanks, guys and gals!!!
I know it's just a piece of iron, but I am STOKED!!!!!

Yeah...that pic of it after the clean up is awesome! Super find, Ty!

Nana :)

Congrats buddy, I wish I had a camera to take pic of the look on your face when you dug it, she cleaned up very nice, rare find indeed :headbang:

I was in shock! And then that guy kept saying it was a "cowtripper' lol!
I'll just bet that my face was ............. ODD!!!
Thanks again for the advice out there in the field! It never hurts to have
more advice, a different "view"!

Ty, that is a great find indeed. If I found it, I think I may have tossed it away thinking it was scrap. Good thing you found it.

Still amazed!!!
I do have to tell you that I somehow knew exactly what it was,
and only one other person around knew t too. That was CWdigger.
Everybody else said it was a scrap piece of iron and that they would
have chucked it. I AM lucky!

Very educational find. In my ignorance, I would have thrown it away! :o

Hey, Ty. I have no idea what you found ??? What is it :dontknow:

It is a pointed piece of iron about the size of a golf ball that was put down for horses to step on.
Of course, that would make the horse lame, and that would make the horse usesless until it healed.
Check out this link,

I used to work in a foundry in Birmingham and we used literaly thousands of these things in a huge tumbler called a ball mill. In a foundry they are for polishing iron castings.
