After some hard-fought finds in the woods on Wednesday, I went back to So. Baltimore for an afternoon hunt. The results: 3 Indian Head cents before 1900 (the 1893 is toasted - didn't make the photo op), 3 wheats, a 1942P nickel, and a Baltimore City Police cuff button. Really happy to be able to hunt recognizable signals in an area with just a little iron. Will get back to the woods, but it's hard to pass up detecting in this park! 1897A_IHP.jpg1897B_IHP.jpgwheats_41_45_56-.jpg1942P_nickel.jpgPolice_cuff_button.jpg

War nickels are one of my favorite. Nice IHP's too. Keep hitting that spot and hopefully you'll find some 1700's silver!

Thanks. Did find on one hole dug today that at a depth of 9 inches there was a layer of oyster shells.

I'm still dreaming of my first Indian Head Cent dug up with my metal detector ( I really did have a dream three nights ago where ,
I dug an 1888 Indian Head Cent ) Very nice finds Amigo !

Hope this is your year for an Indian, where your dream is realized.

Thanks , I think I've got a good shot at it - I found an old swimming hole location that goes back to the Victorian era that
I likely will hunt in September .

not bad at all, war nickel, wheats and Indians, great hunt to me!
