That's a South Carolina militia button-SC militia or Civil War (impossible to tell without the the back mark).

REALLY appreciate you identifying this DND!! That has to be what it...was lol. I (like I am sure most others) hate when I find something with just barely not enough letters or detail to identify, but glad you could. I can now sleep! I have found several civil war pieces and buttons at this spot, so likely from that.
