A couple brass what is its found near Civil War relics.

We have found tons of relics here. I have only hunted this spot about 6 times and have done well. Lots of civil war bullets, buttons, plates, etc. has came from this spot. It is an old farm that dates right around 1800. So I guess they could be anything. "The first picture" ... I have found another one of these before in a civil war camp. The smaller end has a square opening and on the one side has a some threads where something would screw in the side. The smaller end has been broken off. "The second picture" ... It looks to me like one of those old brass reeds found everywhere from old house sites to civil war camps, but larger. And it has 2 holes for I assume screws to make it more perminent maybe. Any ideas?

That first piece looks like it's off a broke Brass door knob.

im thinking door knob also but part of a broken ceramic or class door knob.

That may explain the side screw.

two part to a door --a--the first part the shaft of the door knob runs thru it -- its a cover part on the door face --the second is part of the door strike plate--- just a guess?
