A couple of clad only days ...

I've had a couple of clad only days, which happens to everyone. Just wanted newer members to know it happens (last two outings have been more interesting and I'll post later). Also wanted ask a question of the group

I've been getting a bunch of copper/dime signals that I can't find. They seem smallish and strong with no breaking up in discrimate mode. Detector says they should be 4 inches, and I've dug out a softball sized hole 8 inches deep. Vibraprobe pinpointer hasn't made a beep anywhere in the hole. After 10 minutes or so, I've been giving up. Just so you know, I'm in a old park soccer field. Could have old coins. Also, I've NEVER found coins deeper than 4 inches.

Anyone have advice?

Sorry, it happens to me too sometimes. I have no idea why either.

i have had the same happen to me and when i finally did find it it was a very small piece of what looked like copper foil, the kind that is wrapped in wireing as a shield, not saying thats what happened to you but its something you might look for goodluck to you

Sheldius....Most of my coins from 2 to 4 inches...once in a blue moon at 6 but not often...Recently I have found most of my wheats at 1 inch...The ground is fairly hard and I just don't think they sink as fast or as far as in some places. I found 3 of my 4 mercs and 2 inches or less...We must have the same type of soil..HH and good luck

Thanks. I'm in the Georgia uplands. Everything around here is red clay from the weathering of granite and gneiss. Gets very hard when dry.
