A cut queen victoria penny.

I found this about 15 years ago along the fox river. Almost put it in my scrap pouch until I looked at it closer. It is 1/4 of a mid 1800s English penny.

Very interesting. I've never seen a cut example as late as that... assuming this was someone's attempt to improvise for a shortage in small change. Victoria's nose points between the C and T of 'VICTORIA', so it's 'young head' in use until 1860.

Yes. 1841 was the first edition of that coin.
